Start the countdown. We’re only 15 days from the 2023 USMS Spring National Championship. We’re looking forward to a great event with lots of fast swimming. This will be the largest event in USMS history with 2,474 swimmers registered. Our Spring Nationals page is continuously being updated with meet information, including results, and live coverage.
The psych sheets with estimated timelines are now available. See below for seeding decisions.
- The sixth event has been dropped. All swimmers who entered six events will be limited to five events to help manage the timeline.
- The 50s, 100s, and 200s will be pre-seeded with the oldest groups first, slowest to fastest within each age group, men and women separate.
- Age groups will be swum oldest to youngest per USMS rules.
- All events 400 yards and longer will require positive check-in.
- The 400 IM and 500 free will be seeded by age group, slowest to fastest, men and women separate.
- Men and women will compete in separate courses for all events with the exception of the 500, 1000, and 1650 yard freestyle. These events will be contested in the odd/even course format.
- The 1650 and 1000 will be swum as combined genders, contested in the odd/even course format, and seeded by time.
Here are more important updates to help swimmers prepare for the meet.

All ten competition lanes in the variable depth pool are 2m deep minimum. The remaining lanes will be used for warm up or buffer lanes and identified as such.
- For the 500s, 1650s, and 1000s: the Course A variable depth pool, will be considered the Odd pool (for odd heats) and Course B, the continuous depth pool will be the Even pool (for even heats). Both courses will be identified.
- On Friday and Sunday, women will compete in Course B, the even course. The men will compete in Course A, the odd course.
