Gary Keehner
Controller

Gary provides fiscal management of the $2.5-million USMS budget. He is responsible for USMS financial management systems, internal controls, financial audit, analysis and estimates, payroll, and human resources. He works closely with the Finance, Investment, and Audit Committees as well as the Swimming Saves Lives Foundation.

After serving nine years in the US Army, Gary earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of South Florida and completed one year of graduate coursework in accounting. Prior to joining USMS, he served for fourteen years as finance/hr director for Asolo Theatre, a $12M-annual nonprofit arts organization. Additionally, he has prior fiscal management experience in several industries, including IT Consulting, Manufacturing, Project Accounting and Public Accounting (tax/audit).

Gary enjoys an active personal life. In addition to regular exercise to maintain fitness and health, he keeps everything moving by drumming with the Sarasota Pops Orchestra and playing the occasional jazz club.
