U.S. Masters Swimming Open Water Service Award

Ali had served for 12 years on the USMS Long Distance Committee and 4 years as the Chair (2017-2021), and she served on the USMS Fitness Education Committee for 3 years (2010-2013). She helped the USMS Open Water Committee and the USMS Long Distance Committee merge in 2021. Her committee members appreciated Ali’s management skills, her ability to delegate assignments to the right members, and for leading the meeting on time with everyone having a chance to provide their input. Ali helped the USMS National office take ownership of the USMS Open Water and Virtual events. In 2022, Ali continued as a member of the USMS Long Distance Committee and she was the 2023 committee liaison for the marathon distance national open water championship. In 2021, Ali was elected to the Pacific LMSC Vice Chair for Open Water. The Pacific LMSC had a large open water program. In addition, Ali participated in marathon swimming events and raised funds for under-resourced children’s charities.
